You're Special

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

For the background, I started by cutting the Spellbinders Renaissance Border One out of Icicle Pearl Card 6 times. I added 3 of them to a piece of Midnight Blue Pearl Card, setting them tip to tip. I then added 2 more into the gaps. I cut the final one into half lengthways and added it into the space left at both sides. I let the glue set and then ran it through the Spellbinders Platinum Machine with the Spellbinders Elite M-Bossabilities Folder. I matted onto another piece of Midnight Blue Pearl Card.
I popped a piece of Creative Expressions Double Sided Self Adhesive Sheet onto a piece of Coconut White Card. I cut #2 die from the Spellbinders Renaiisance Jewelled Frame from it. I removed the other backing sheet and then added CS Glacier Ice Glitter Jewels.

I stamped the sentiment from the Justrite Meadow Circles Stamp Set onto Icicle Pearl Card using Jet Black Archival. I cut it out using a die from the Spellbinders Acanthus Leaf Tags Die Set. I cut the corresponding larger die from the same set out of Midnight Blue Card. I cut the #3 die from the Spellbinders Renaissance Vine Die Set.

I tied a bow using 2 lengths of Craft Consortium White Satin Ribbon and added a Craft Consortium Vintage Pearl Charm.

I assembled the card as shown adding an 8mm White Pearl to the corners and piercing around the edges using my Tim Holtz Ruler, Precision Probe and Piercing Mat.

Sweet Baby

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

For the woven background, I started by cutting Sue Wilson's Classic Weaving Die out of Coconut White Card and then embossed it using Couture Creations Velvet Tea Lights Embossing Folder. I cut Sue's Striped Weaving Die out of Aqua Card twice. I glued the 2 striped die cuts together, offsetting them to fill in the gaps. I cut these strips into sets of 2 and 3. For my weave, I wove a set of 3 strips through the Classic die cut under 1, over 1, under 1, over 1 and so on. Then using a set of 2 strips I wove over 1, under 1, over 1, under 1 and so on. I repeated these 2 rows until my piece was complete.

I made a frame using dies #2 and #4 from Sue's Scalloped Lattice Frames Set B. I added it to my background using 3D Foam and trimmed away the excess using scissors. I added a piece of Coconut White Card cut using die #5 from the same set, and mats of Aqua and Coconut White Card.

I cut die #4 from the Sue's Madeleine Die Set out of Coconut White Card. I cut dies #3 and #4 from the same set out Aqua Card. I cut the sentiment from Sue's Baby Onesie Die Set out of Coconut White Card.

Thank You So Much

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

A simple weave for you today with just a little extra work preparing the backgrounds for the weave.

I cut Sue Wilson's Classic Weaving Die out of Coconut White Card and then ran it through the Spellbinders Platinum Machine with the Creative Expressions Wild Roses Embossing Folder.

I popped some CS Flake & Glitter Glue onto a piece of Wax Paper. I picked it up onto a piece of Cut n Dry Foam and used it to ink up the Justrite Holly Garland Background Stamp. I stamped it onto Coconut White Card leaving the stamp on the card no more than 3 seconds so as not to tear the card.  I cleaned my stamp under a cold tap and then went back to my stamped background. I added CS Gemstones Gilding Flakes. I removed the excess using a piece of Rubit Scrubit. I popped a piece of Creative Expressions Double Sided Self Adhesive Sheet on top of the background, removed the backing sheet and added CS Iced Snow Glitter Jewels. I then cut the Classic Weaving Die into it.

I did a simple one by one weave.

I made a frame out of Coconut White Card using Sue's Double Pierced Rectangles and Double Pierced Rectangles Set B. I added it to my background using 3D Foam Tape, adding a little CS Glue to the tape as going onto Glitter Jewels. I trimmed away the excess using scissors.

I stamped the sentiment from Phill Martin's Butterfly Elegance Sentiments using Clear Perfect Medium and embossed with CS Ancient Copper Detail Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Sue's Belgian Tags. I cut out dies #2 and #3 together from the same tag out of Coconut White Card. I cut die #3 from the same tag out of  Antique Copper Pearl Card.

I cut Sue's Star Flower Cluster out of Coconut White and Antique Copper Pearl Card and added 3mm White Pearls to the centre of the flowers.

I completed my card by adding an 8mm White Pearl to the corners of my frame and some mats of Coconut White Card.

I do hope you're not getting bored with woven cards - I still love them! I spent Saturday evening weaving with some leftover bits from my Hochanda shows and a couple of hours yesterday putting them onto cards so I have lots more to share with you.

Autumn Hues

Hi Bloggers.

This was a demo card in a different colourway than my original card so I thought I would give it a day on the the blog -

For the background, I ran a piece of Coconut White Card through the Spellbinders Platinum Machine with the the Creative Expressions Eternal Ivy Embossing Folder. I matted onto Black Card and then onto a Coconut White Card blank. I edged with Phill Martin's CS Chic Pumpkin Twinkles and put aside to dry.

I misted a piece of Watercolour Card with water and added CS Pixie Powders in Straw Yellow, Burnt Orange and Aubergine Dream and put aside to dry.

I cut dies #3 and #4 together from Sue Wilson's Swirly Vine Background out of Black Card. Once my PP background was dry, I cut die #4 from it and added it to the black decorative die cut.

For the central leaf, I added CS to a piece of Heat Emboss Acetate. I added the same 3 Pixie Powders. I misted with a little water. I scrunched up a piece of White Tissue Paper, opened it and added it to the background. I tapped it down using a piece of Kitchen Roll and put aside to dry. Once completely dry, I cut the largest solid leaf from Sue's Autumn Leaf Trio Die Set. I cut the corresponding open leaf die from the same set out of Coconut White Card.

I finished my card by adding a Small Black Circle Dazzler to each corner of my embossed background.

You can see the original card in its original colourway here.

Lisa Horton is launching a One Day Special on Hochanda tonight at 8pm. I'm offering 10% discount on items I have in stock on my website from the shows. You can find them here. Offer applies till midnight tomorrow night or while stocks last. Discount will be applied at checkout.

Happy Birthday to You

Hi Bloggers.

I have a weave and a shadow box for you today -

This was a demo card from the weaving shows that I did on Hochanda earlier this month.

I started by stamping one of the stamps from the Justrite Playful Painted Trio Stamp Set onto Coconut White Card 3 times using CS Summer Sky Colour Cloud applied using a Smoothie. Once the ink was dry, I cut Sue Wilson's Classic Weaving Die from it. I cut the Classic Weaving Die again out of Coconut White Card and this one I ran through the Spellbinders Platinum Machine with the Couture Creations Velvet Tea Lights Embossing Folder. I then wove the embossed die cut through the stamped one in a simple one by one weave.

I cut Sue's Happy Birthday Shadow Box with the inserts included to cut the apertures and added it to my woven background using 3D Foam Tape.

I made a frame using dies #2 and #4 from Sue's Scalloped Lattice Frames Set B and added it to the shadow box using 3D Foam Tape again and trimmed away the excess using scissors (you may spot that I didn't quite line this up right - I blame it on the counters at Hochanda (even the low ones) and no time to faff!). I popped this onto a Coconut White Card blank.

I cut the sentiment dies and some of the little dies in the Shadow Box Set out of Aqua Card.

I cut Sue's Striped Weaving Die from Peach Card. I cut this die cut into wide pair strips and wove each pair through the stamped Classic die cut.

I made a frame out of Peach Card using dies #2 and #4 from Sue's Scalloped Lattice Frames Set B. I added it to my woven background using 3D Foam Tape and trimmed away the excess using scissors.

I cut die #4 from Sue's Madeleine Die Set out of Peach Card and dies #3 and #4 together out of Coconut White Card.
