Thinking of You

Hi Bloggers.

I'm hoping to have a lie in after yesterday's long day but no doubt I'll be up at my usual time. Thanks so much for your emails and comments here on the blog yesterday.

Here's today's card -

The background has been achieved by cutting the Spellbinders Tapestry Die twice from a piece of Apricot Card. It's easy to line it up at the edge of the previously cut section - just remember to hang the already cut piece outside of the Grand Calibur so that you don't squash the embossed bit. This die benefits from using a piece of card as a shim when cutting.

I stamped the Vintage Dressform using Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Golden Fish Aurora Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Superellipse and inked through the die with Dried Marigold Distress Ink.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Heartfelt Sentiments using Perfect Medium and embossed with Golden Fish Aurora. I cut it out using Spellbinders Matting Basics A and inked through the die with Dried Marigold.

I made a flower using theHeartfelt Creations Striped Sunkissed Fleur Stamp and the Sunkissed Fleur Die. I cut some leaves using the Hearfelt Creations Ornamental Add On Die Set.

I assembled the card as shown adding some Cream Pearls and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in White around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Have a Beautiful Day

Hi Bloggers.

Today I have shows on Create & Craft at 8am, 10am, 2pm and 7pm. I shall be driving to the studios when this post goes live and won't be back home again till about 9.30pm. Long Day!  Looks like I have Martyn at 8am, Andy at 10am, Lee at 2pm and Paul at 7pm.

Here's today's card -

Such an easy card to construct - but then I don't do difficult. I wanted to share this one to show you the Gold Ovals One used with the Nobel Rectangles.

For the background. I ran some blue card through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Extra Loren Embossing Folder. Watch out for these as they may not be shown on the TV but they are on the show. They're from the brand new Elegance Collection. I have ordered some for my Amazon Store but as yet they haven't arrived. I ran it through a second time to extend the design. I rubbed Enchanted Gold Gilding Wax all over.

I stamped the Pure Elegance Single Stamp using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured in using some Matt Drawing Inks - Blue Cotton (Soft Velver Set), Umber (Autumn Shades Set), Cosmic Tone (Skin Tones Set) and Tropic Blue Mica Powder from the Cosmic Shimmer Garden Flora Mica Spray Set.

I placed the largest of the Nobel Rectangles over the image and then a Gold Ovals One within it (I secured it with low tack tape). I cut and embossed as normal then removed the oval die and inked through the Nobel Tectangle with Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

I stamped the sentiment that comes with the Delightful Lily Stamp using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder.  I cut it out using a Spellbinders Superellipse die and inked through the die with Faded Jeans.

I made 3 flowers from the little flower die in the Spellbinders Pearl Effects die set (just the same as in yesterday's card). I stamped 2 leaves using the Heartfelt Creations Open Leaf Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with clear powder. I cut them out using the Heartfelt Creations Classic Leaf Die Set and coloured them in using Tropic Blue Mica Powder.

I assembled the card as shown adding some White Pearls and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in White around the edges.

Hope you can join me today - lots of emails please!

Thanks for stopping by.

A Special Something

Hi Bloggers.

As promised today I'm sharing a card from tomorrows shows. It's green! Be gentle with me!

Here it is -

Spellbinders have launched a series of Gold dies called Enhanceabilities. There are Rounds (circles), Ovals, Rectangles and Squares. There is no cutting edge on these dies (although some do cut some detail within the debossed designs) and they are meant to be used with your standard circles, ovals, rectangles and squares. Although, it's fun to use them with other shapes too or just use them to emboss your background. A useful addition to your stash methinks. There are lots of other dies and folders on the shows, some of my favourites are also on this card.

So, for the background, I used a piece of Coconut White Card.I ran it through the Grand Calibur with the Spellbinders Ocean Dreams M-Bossabilities Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the design - you can easily get it to slot into place on the cogs section of the design. I rubbed Enchanted Gold Gilding Wax all over the design. I waited 5 minutes or so till the wax was dry and then inked around the edges with Peeled Paint Distress Ink using Cut n Dry Foam.

I stamped the Fishtail Frock using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured it in using Cosmic Tone Matt Drawing Ink (from the Skin Tones Set) also Golden Pear and Enchanted Gold from the Cosmic Shimmer Garden Flora Mica Spray Set. I cut it out with scissors and went around the edges with a black marker pen to hide any white bits.

On this card I have used the Gold Rectangles One with the Grand Rectangles dies. There are smaller dies in the Gold Set which co-ordinate with the Large Classic Rectangles die set (which is on the show). You can also use the Matting Basics sets with them and, of course, other shapes too. On the smaller white rectangle, I added the Delicate Mask at the emboss stage to add a little more interest to the centre of the panel. You could also just use lots of the gold rectangles for interest on this panel. I also inked through the die with Peeled Paint.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Heartfelt Sentiments Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Pearl Effects and inked through the die with Peeled Paint. I cut a Spellbinders Nobel Rectangle out of Green Card.

In the Pearl Effects Die Set there's a little flower die. I cut 3 flowers out, edged them with Peeled Paint and shaped them (I will try to demo this at some point tomorrow). I added a 5mm Cream Pearl to the centre of each.

I cut a couple of leaves using the Heartfelt Creations Classic Leaf Die Set.

I assembled the card as shown adding some more Cream Pearls and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in White around the edges.

Hope you like this offering - no green comments allowed!

I'll be back tomorrow with another card from the shows.

Thanks for stopping by.

Garden of Life

Hi Bloggers.

Before I share today's card, I'd just like to say thank you to everyone who has clicked 'like' on my Julia Watts Crafts page.  A few people of sent me friend requests - my personal facebook is only for friends and family - sorry. All my news goes on my Julia Watts Crafts page and here on the blog.

Here's today's card -

This is one of the rare occasions when I used a backing paper. It's from the Heartfelt Creations Burst of Splendour Paper Pad which I had been given. It seemed rude not to use it even though the pad was not included in the show.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Natures Sentiments Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival in the top left hand corner. I wrapped a piece of White Crochet Ribbon around the centre.

I stamped the Blooming Dahlia  using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using scissors and coloured using Milled Lavender Distress Marker. There's only one layer on this card, you could decoupage this flower into lots of layers. I stamped some leaves from the Bold Leaf stamp set using Crushed Olive Distress Marker. I cut them out with the Classic Leaf Die Set.

Just to show how well other dies work with set, I cut aHeartfelt Creations Decorative Lattice Swirl out of Coconut White Card.

I assembled tha card as shown adding some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Vintage Plum around the edges.

I'll be back tomorrow with a sneak peak from Friday's shows - mmm what to share first?

Thanks for stopping by.

Every Flower is a Soul

Hi Bloggers.

Back to Sunkissed Fleur and a Burst of Splendour today.

The background is simply a piece of Milk Card run through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Extra Flint Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the design and inked around the edges with Dusty Concord Distress Ink.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Garden Sayings Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Stately Circles and inked through the die with Dusty Concord. I cut the largest of the Spellbinders Splendid Circles out of purple card. Don't the 2 circle sets work well together?

For a change I made a flower out of Felt I got from Sam Poole here. I used the Heartfelt Creations Sunkissed Fleur Die (don't emboss). The felt cuts really easily. I layered up 3 different sized flowers securing with Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue and added a Frosted Violet Dazzler.

I stamped some leaves from the Hearfelt Creations Open Leaf Stamp Set and the Classic Leaf Stamp Set using Olive Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut them out using the Classic Leaf Die Set.

I assembled the card as shown adding some Cream Pearls and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Golden Pearl around the edges.

One for the guys

Hi Bloggers.

I thought I'd throw this one in today. Kathryn selected it from my box to give to her boyfriend for his birthday - I think it was the sentiment that did it. Anyway, I thought I'd better blog it before I completely forget what I used to make it!

For the background, on one side I inked through the Fleur De Lys Tiles Mask with Faded Jeans Distress Ink and the other side I ran through the Grand Calibur with the Heavy Duty Couture Creations Embossing Folder. I inked around the edges with Faded Jeans using Cut n Dry Foam and then hid the join by wrapping some Blue/Ivory Striped Grosgrain Ribbon around it.

I stamped the Tea Clipper using Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Denim Lilac Aurora Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Card Creator Distressed Edges and inked through the die with Faded Jeans.

I stamped the sentiment that comes with the Tea Clipper using Perfect Medium and embossed with Denim Lilac Aurora. I cut it out using Spellbinders Matting Basics (sorry I can't remember if it was A or B).

I added some Blue Buttons and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Cobalt around the edges.

Happy Birthday

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

For the background, I randomly inked through sections of the Fretwork Mask using Scattered Staw Distress Ink. Then I randomly stamped one of the swirls from the Heartfelt Creations Sunkissed Fleur Swirls Stamp Set using Scattered Straw. I made sure the ink was dry and then ran it through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Hyper Magical Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the design and inked around the edges with Scattered Straw using Cut n Dry Foam.

I stamped the image from the Heartfelt Creations Tags & Basket Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured in using Distress Markers. I used Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold and Crushed Olive. I cut the image out using Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles and inked through the die with Scattered Straw. I cut a larger Resplendent Rectangle out of Custard Card and again inked through the diw with Scattered Straw.

I stamped the Sunkissed Fleur Stamp using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut out using the Sunkissed Fleur Die. I did this a couple of times so I had plenty of flowers to choose from. I selected some flowers to correspond with the ones on the tag. I coloured them the same way as before, shaped them and added a Cream Pearl in the centre of each.

I selected 3 of the larger flowers and coloured them the same way as the ones on the tag. I coloured 2 leaves (also cut from the stamp/die) with Crushed Olive. I shaped the flowers and the leaves and added a Cream Pearl.

I assembled the card as shown adding some more pearls in the corners and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Golden Pearl around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by.

Adopt the pace of Nature

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

I had this all prepped as a demo for last Sunday but there wasn't time for it. By now some of you should have received your dies/stamps. I hope you're loving them as much as I do. In fact some of the flowers I've had left over have just snuck onto some of my samples for the shows on 30th August! Goodness knows how that happened!

Anyway, for the background I stamped the Heartfelt Creations Sunkissed Fleur Corner using Fired Brick Distress Ink and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Arctic Pearl Lustre Embossing Powder.  I then ran it through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Extra Flint Embossing Folder. I ran it through a second time to extend the design and inked around the edges with Fired Brick using Cut n Dry Foam.

I cut a Spellbinders Filigree Delight die out of Burgundy Card. I stamped the basket from the Hearfelt Creations Sunkissed Fleur Tags & Basket Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured in using Distress Markers. I used Mustard Seed, Aged Mahogany and Crushed Olive. When I used the Aged Mahogany for the flowers, I scribbled some ink onto my craft sheet and used a water brush to water the colour down and paint with. I cut the image out using the Oval Die from the Filigree Delight Die Set and inked through the die with Fired Brick.

I stamped the Sunkissed Fleur Stamp using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut the flowers out using the Sunkissed Fleur Die. I selected some small flowers to correspond with some of the flowers in the basket and coloured them in the same way. I shaped them and added a White Pearl to the centre of each.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Garden Sayings Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles and inked through the die with Fired Brick.

I assembled the card as shown adding a few more White Pearls and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in White around the edges.

I still haven't heard from Crafty Chris with her addy to receive her prize. Please email me at juliawattscrafts@gmail.com so I can pop it in the post.

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

Easy peasy - again the gorgeous stamp does all the work.

On the background piece of Coconut White Card, I stamped the large Dahlia from the Heartfelt Creations Dahlia Bouquet using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I coloured it in using Cosmic Shimmer Matt Drawing Inks. I used Mallow from the Summer Fayre Set and Soft Moss from the Garden Twist Set. I inked around the edges of the background piece with Spun Sugar Distress Ink using Cut n Dry Foam.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Exprssions Garden Sayings Stamp Set using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Opulent Ovals and inked through the die with Spun Sugar.

I cut a Spellbinders Les Papillion out of Pastel Pink Card and added some 5mm White Pearls.

I tied a bow using White Crochet Ribbon and added a Fancy Pearl Embellishment.

Please email me at juliawattscrafts@gmail.com with your address and I'll pop your prize in the post.

Here's today's card -

For the background, I inked through the Elegance Border Mask with Faded Jeans Distress Ink using Cut n Dry Foam. I did this 3 times across the card. I then popped it through the Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations Extra Flint Embossing Folder.

I stamped the sentiment from the Creative Expressions Natures Sentiments Stamp Set using Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Arctic Lake Lustre Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Stately Circles and inked through the die with Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

I stamped the Heartfelt Creations Striped Sunkissed Fleur using Jet Black Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut out using the Sunkissed Fleur Die. I did this a couple of times so I had plenty of flowers to choose from. I coloured a selection of flowers in using Milled Lavender and Tumbled Glass Distress Markers roughly following the stripes in the design. I shaped the flowers, stacked them up and added some White Pearls to the centres.

I cut some leaves out of Cobalt Card (no stamping on these) using the Heartfelt Creations Classic Leaf Die Set.

I assembled the card as shown, adding some more white pearls in the corners and some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in White around the edges.

Flowers Leave Some of Their Fragrance

Hi Bloggers.

Here's today's card -

Another really easy card to construct. For the background I stamped the Justrite Sweet Lace Background twice onto some Milk Card using Dried Marigold Distress Ink. My join wasn't brilliant on this one but not too obvious. I went around the very edge with some Denim Adirondack Dye Ink.

The sentiment is from the Creative Expressions Garden Sayings Stamp Set. I stamped it using Cobalt Archival and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I cut it out using Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles and inked through the die with Dried Marigold. I cut a mat out of Apricot Card using the same die set.

I stamped the Heartfelt Creations Sunkissed Fleur Stamp onto some Foundations Floral Dream Paper using Cobalt Archival and embossed with Clear Powder. I cut the flowers out using the Sunkissed Fleur Die. I selected 3 flowers and shaped them. I did a Sue Wilson thing and mixed some Sunset Orange and Snowcap Mixative with some Large Glass Micro Beads. Once they were dry, I popped some Cosmic Shimmer Dried Clear Glue in the centre of each flower and added some coloured Micro Beads.

I assembled the card as shown adding some dots of Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent PVA in Summer Blue around the edges.
